Review: Barielle Exotica

Hi lovelies,

Today I have a gorgeous, bold, fuschia color from Barielle to show to you! I really love this color! The formula was thick but not too thick, it was quite perfect actually :) I would describe this finish as in between a creme and a jelly, a "crelly" as we call it in the nail world. It becomes extremely opaque in ONE coat!! I used two though, just because I always have to use at least two.

The ONLY thing I didn't like about this polish was the brush. I have never had a problem with any of Barielle's brushes before, so I'm sure I just got a wonky one. But I made it work :)

Hope you enjoy and be sure to check out Barielle's Facebook page and enter their BFF Sweepstakes!! :)

Review: Barielle Elle's Spell

Today I have Barielle's Elle Spell to show you. This is my all time favorite Barielle polish!! I have wanted it forever and am so excited to share with you :)

Elle's Spell is a gorgeous, deep red jelly with flakies. I decided to layer it over OPI Guy Meets Galveston since it is a reddish coral jelly and I wanted to see how a jelly would look layered over a jelly :) I love the result!!!

Review: Soulstice Harbour Island

Harbour Island is one of Soulstice Spa's new Spring shades. It is a lovely sheer polish with lots of iridescent shimmer. I absolutely love it by itself! It looks so dainty and girly. I also layered it over black (Zoya Raven) so you can see what it looks like. I think the black really brings out the shimmer :)

On their website it is described as "pink sands, a sugary pastel."

It only takes one coat to fully cover your nail, and the formula was nice and smooth.

Soulstice Spa's Nail Colors retail for $8 each and you can purchase them HERE.
They also have a Facebook!

Review: SoFlaJo Wild Irish Rose

Today I am showing you an adorable indie polish called Wild Irish Rose, from the Spring Flowers collection, made by the lovely Jody of SoFlaJo. It is a sheer shimmery polish with pink and purple micro glitter, iridescent bar glitter, and a lovely pink shimmer. I decided to show it to you layered over a bright fuschia color and by itself.

The bright fuschia base color I used is L.A. Colors Disco Brites Rock n' Roll. I really love the effect of Wild Irish Rose over it!! I also love it by itself. It has a very sweet and simple look to it :)

Coral Holo - L.A. Colors Stayin' Alive and HITS Hefesto

Hello loves!

So like Jems from Jenny, I am have a HUGE coral obsession right now!!! I just can't get enough of red/pink/peachy corals. My sister in law got me this lovely bright red coral color for Christmas last year.
As I was moping around the other day while trying to find a pretty coral color in my stash to wear, I was pretty sure I didn't have one, but then I found this beauty!! I hadn't thought of this being a coral when I got it, I thought of it as just a red. But it is a lovely bright reddish coral, with a surprisingly great formula! It went on very smoothly and was opaque in two coats! I used 3 though, because I always use 3 :)

I love the bright shiny coral color by itself, but I really wanted to add something to it... I was trying to decide what to layer over it without changing the color completely, when it hit me. HOLO!!! You can't go wrong with a holo :) So I decided to use HIT Hefesto again since I loved my minty holo so much!

So here it is!! L.A. Colors Disco Brites Stayin' Alive with HITS Hefesto layered on top :)

Knocked Up Nails: Craving a Creamsicle Review

Hello lovelies!

Today I have a review of an adorable polish from a new company called "Knocked Up Nails."
They focus on creating maternity safe nail polish that is 4-free. Which means they do not contain toluene, formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate, or camphor. They are also safe for allergy suffers, cancer patients, and children. And they are cruelty free!!

They have lots of colors to choose from with really cute and clever names :)
Some of my other favorites are She's Got that Glow, O-Blue-GYN, Knocked Up and Naked, I Earned a Little Blue Box, and Mint Chip at Midnight! Check out Jackie's review of that one here :)

Craving a Creamsicle is a lovely soft orange polish with a subtle golden shimmer. I love it because it is not a harsh orange and in some lighting it even looks peachy :) I am so into peachy coral colors lately!! The formula is pretty decent too. I had a bit of an issue with some bubbling but they were pretty easy to smooth out. And it was not streaky or thick at all, very easy to work with and build-able. I used 3 coats and a top coat of INM Northern Lights (not shaken so there is no glitter) to make it shiny as it dries to a softer finish.

Bibbity Bobbity Boo! Zoya Indigo with a Magical Touch

I decided to enter Neverland Nail Blog's Nail Art Contest! The theme is "Do You Believe in Magic?" You are supposed to choose something magical that inspires you. I have always loved Cinderella, so I decided to recreate her Fairy Godmother's wand with the twinkles and swirls that make all of Cinderella's plain things turn beautiful.

I used Zoya Indigo for the base, painted the magic wand with Zoya Trixie with a striping brush,
and then used my tiniest dotting tool to make the magical twinkles and swirls using Color Club Gingerbread.

I cannot freehand at all, but I am so pleased with how it turned out!! :)

Blue for Autism Awareness - Orly Sweet Peacock & China Glaze Dorothy Who

I can't believe I let Orly's Sweet Peacock sit in my drawer for so long! This blue is absolutely stunning!! It is a bright metallic blue foil. This is actually the first foil I have worn and I just love it.

This is my entry for Luv My Lacquer's Autism Awareness Contest! You should enter too!! You have until April 27th.

I used Orly Sweet Peacock for the base on all of my nails.
Then I painted China Glaze Dorothy Who? over my index and ring fingers.
On those two fingers I stamped with Konad M59 and M57 using Zoya Trixie, which is an amazing silver foil!!

Easter Egg Dots

Here is how I did my nails for Easter weekend! I tried so hard to paint a bunny and a chick in egg like I've seen so many other bloggers do, but my nail art skills are limited to say the least lol. I am pretty decent with dotting tools though, so after 3 hours of trying to paint bunnies and chicks, I gave up and decided to just do some spring colored dots over my pastel yellow base and I think they look kind of like Easter eggs :)

Here is what I used.

Base Color - China Glaze Lemon Fizz
Dots - Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet, Hard Candy Sky, L.A. Colors Tropical Breeze, China Glaze Papaya Punch, Sally Hansen Shrimply Divine, and Kiss White Striping Polish.

Oh and I simply must mention how terrible of a formula Lemon Fizz is!! I LOVE the color so much, but the application is a sticky streaky mess. This is 4 coats!

Essie She's Picture Perfect with As Gold as it Gets

I recently won Essie's She's Picture Perfect in a Facebook Giveaway from beautyofasite.com!!
I was not really impressed with the color or the formula, but I decided to layer As Gold as it Gets over it too see if that would help. I really love the golden shimmer effect it gave!! Sorry about the not so great quality pictures, the hubby didn't want to get the nice camera out before he left :( And of course I have to take this off so I can start on my Easter nails! :)

I AM SO EXCITED!!!!! After months of searching, I finally found Revlon Whimsical!!! I love it even more than I thought I would :) I also received Sinful Colors Cinderella from the lovely Desiree at theprincessandthepolish.blogspot.com as a giveaway prize. Thank you love, I adore it!! :)

Cinderella is the perfect base for Whimsical! It's a gorgeous baby blue with a subtle pink shimmer that peeks through just a bit after layering 3 coats of Whimsical over it. I used 3 coats because I wanted a lot of the pink and blue glitter :)

My St. Patrick's Day Nails!

So I know I am a little late, but here is my St. Patrick's Day manicure! I wore this for about 5 days and got lots of compliments on it!! I was so happy that my shamrock actually turned out looking like a shamrock haha. Freehand is not my thing, but I'm glad I decided to try :)

Here is what I used.

Revlon Posh
Orly Luxe for the shamrock, done with dotting tools and a tiny striping brush
Lynnderella The Glittering Crowd for the rainbow explosion on my ring finger :)
And a topcoat of INM Northern Lights Gold, along with a couple coats of Gelous over the glitter.

Close up of the glitter explosion!!!
